Without a doubt, all the back and forth with Sunday’s date and OPG has lent my life a bit ‘o interest of late. Certainly it’s made for a couple of halfway-interesting blog posts.
Still, just a wee bit frustrating. Too confusing. I’ve heard this myth that, occasionally, two people meet each other and hit it off right away, nice and simple. Me? I gotta step into this complex stuff.
Bleh.
I had been hoping for a distraction this weekend in the form of a trip to Disneyland, but the friend I was going with had to back out at the last minute so that went down the tubes. Luckily, I’d been invited to a birthday party of paintball today.
I hadn’t done paintball since my college days, and God knows I needed the distraction. What a wonderful thing, then, to have just spent the entire day running around, shooting blobs of paint-goo, hiding, strategizing and, of course, getting nailed by multiple rounds of air-propelled paint.
I have a couple of lovely welts on my legs, my arms, my sides, and one direct hit to the back of the hand that stings like you wouldn’t believe. The perfect, straightforward, nicely distracting kind of day.
Of course, when I was in college I bounced back from this kind of exercise and minor-wounding much faster. And while I’m not old, I certainly do feel the age gap of 12 years between then and now.
So, if you’ll all excuse me, I’m off to take a nice, hot shower…
Ooh fun!
I could do with shooting at things. Or punching them.

I’ve always thought that paintball would be fun. I’ve never had the pleasure though. Some family back in Minnesota did it for the first time back in June and it was a riot. You know it’s fun when they have to show off their welts to everyone in the room. I will probably have a chance to do it when we move back. The only thing better then shooting friends is shooting family. Heh.

I’ve also thought paintball would be fun… reading about your welts though makes me not so sad that I’ve never tried it. 😉

just a girl – Shooting paintballs is much better – punching just hurts your knuckles.
Homer-Dog – You really must try one day. Perfect stress relief!
a life uncommon – it is quite fun, and the welts is more due to my stupidly wearing less clothing than I should have (note to self: next time being gloves).

Nothing like an aggressive sport to get your mind off things.
LOVED the snow on the page.
