Up A Notch

In a few minutes, the state of television is about to step up a full notch. Perhaps even two.

Why? I’m so glad you asked.

Two words:

It’s not light television. It’s often not easy watching. It’s well produced, superbly shot, acted and written.

Most important of all: it makes you think.

A lot of people don’t like television that makes you think, and I don’t deny the irresistible allure of silly eye candy, especially on a Friday night. But since so much of television has become that now, it’s nice to have an alternative.

Those of you who watch, you know.

Those who haven’t, go get the DVD’s already.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to watch this cast strut their stuff.

Happy Friday.

  1. You forgot to mention that it’s filmed here and that just makes it better. 😉

    Tricia Helfer? Canadian too.

I do, ever so slighty, miss the ‘By your command’…

  2. Happy Friday to you too! 😀

That ex who I mentioned who liked to joke about vampire tea?

Well, he also liked watching Battlestar Galactica.

  3. Ooooh, I want to watch it!

If only I had cable – Guess it’s DVD for me! 🙂

  4. I may just have to watch this now that you gave it such a glowing review.

  5. Just A Girl – I figured I would let you, as a native, cover those points. I do kinda miss that line!

    Cara – Hmmmm…

Wendy – Yep, and worth the cost to rent!

brandy – Do. Keep in mind though, not easy watching…

  6. I agree with you 100% Battlestar is the bestest TV that I’ve seen in years. Unfortunately since I’m away from homebase right now, I have it waiting for me on my DVR. Can’t wait to catch up when I get home.
