I thought, briefly, about writing a longish post about my Dad for Father’s Day.
Maybe do a whole list of all the things that make my Dad cool. All the qualities of my personality that are good that I got directly from him. How much of a good husband he is to my Mom. How much I learned from him.
Truth is, though, I know my Dad wouldn’t really like me making all that fuss about him. Wouldn’t want a lot of talk.
But don’t worry. I gave him a call. I wished him Happy Father’s Day. He thanked me.
Nothing more needed to be said.
Happy Father’s Day, Dad. You’re the best.
🙂
Dads seem to enjoy the no-fuss more…mine does too.

Mine is definitely no-fuss, as well. My mom and I went to brunch, had a nice day of bonding, while my dad? Well, he was happy just relaxing at our house on the Cape, not having to do anything taxing.

Awe, I’m grinning at my screen right now. Short but very sweet. Your dad raised a great son!

Ruby – Heh. I think it’s a “Dad” thing!
East Coast Teacher – I think I’m with your Dad on that one!
Mel Heth – Erm, *blush* Thanks.

Well done. My father and I never got along very well and he passed 25 years ago but if he were alive today, I would try to smooth things over and wish him a Happy Father’s Day too.
