Please Stand By…

So I’m back in town from my extended Labor Day weekend. Yet, I feel like I have nothing to write.

Or perhaps I’m simply not feeling that inspired.

Yes, I want to write about my trip, but feel overwhelmed by the idea of even starting to edit the almost 700 pictures I shot over four days. And since the pictures are usually the memory key I use to write such posts, well, you get the idea.

I’d love to write about The Twenty-Nine Year old, but due to family obligations, our second attempt at a second date planned for Monday fell through. And I haven’t heard from her since her e-mail letting me know on Sunday.

And no, that hasn’t started me on a bout of over-thinking. Not at all. Really. And if you believe that, I have this lovely orange bridge in San Francisco I can sell you the deed to. It’s a classic, built back in the thirties. Imagine the views you’ll have!

Aaaanyway…

Beyond that, I’m simply back into my routine. I get up. I go to work. I go to the gym. I come home and watch whatever Netflix dropped off. I’m feeling neither up nor down, just kinda floating along.

None of which feels particularly blog-worthy.

So I’ve spent my time catching up on everyone elses’ far more interesting lives. I added comments to the last two posts. I’ve deftly avoided watching much about politics, turning my attention instead to Ken Burns’ The Civil War and reading a book I’ve been trying to finish for a while.

Like I said. Routine.

Maybe, with a little luck, something even remotely interesting will inspire some writing in the next few days.

Until then… hope you’re all patient… please stand by…

  1. Don’t forget to catch up on GraphJam while you are at it. Did you see the Little Old Lady Who Lives in a Shoe one? 🙂

  2. I hear you. Take your time and we will wait patiently. August was my slowest blogging month since I started two years ago and I too feel like I’m coasting along with nothing interesting happening. Things will change.

  3. I am looking forward to seeing your pictures whenever you get around to posting them. Don’t make it a chore or an obligation or it won’t be any fun – and isn’t blogging supposed to be fun?

As for the Twenty-Nine Year Old…I don’t think I would contact her again. Wait for her to contact you. As for the bridge, I think it would sell a lot faster if you painted it a lovely shade of yellow. People like bright, shiny things.

  4. No rush.
    No worries.

Nice to see you about though. 🙂

  5. Ms. 29 year old has way too many excuses. I am irritated on your behalf. Try not to let it get you down!

  6. Looking forward to the photos.

As for the 29-year-old, well, I’m as old as she is, and I’m done with excuses for why I would/wouldn’t want to see a guy.

If she really wanted to hang out (or not), she should be woman enough to tell you. Just common courtesy, but then again, I just wrote a post on how that seems to have gone out the window.

So, in the words of one of my friends, “NEEEEXXXXXXT!” 🙂

  7. Nothing to write?? You can start by telling us all how much you missed us, wished we were on the trip with you, and now plan to send us all $5 in the mail to make up for our pain and suffering.

…or you can just post some pictures when you’re ready.

  8. The thing is… I’m not that patient. You have one more day of no blogging before I demand it. And I’m not sure what happens if you don’t follow through on the demand and post some pictures, but I would hate to see it. I’ve got a lot of pent up rage (I blame the RNC). 😉 You know I’m kidding.

  9. Urgh, I’m hear you and understand you sooooooo much! Sometimes it just… takes more effort to write than others.

    Don’t mind us… we’ll wait. *whistles*

& boy, 700 pictures?!! *passes out* I would be ignoring that folder for months!

  10. I have something on my blog for you!

  11. I’m gonna jog in place instead of just standing by. I can’t believe you took 700 pictures! Holy mackerel Ansel Adams! I see another career in your future.

I agree with Dingo on the girl front – hang back and let her come to you. Any other prospects on the old Matcheroo?

  12. Lame-o to chicken out via email. This is probably a pretty trite perspective, but good thing to see this character flaw early in? At least you’ll be able to keep your head/heart in a safe place.

Thanks for posting even the blahs, GH! Honesty & openness are great traits that you keep demonstrating time and again.

  13. TGAW – Graphjam was one of the first sites I caught up with, though not at work, of course… 😉

    Homer-Dog – Thanks, man. I hope so.

Dingo – Hopefully I’ll start working on them this week.

    Just A Girl – Thanks.

Hadley – Hah! Too late. You know how troubling the opposite sex can be to the mind, eh?

    East Coast Teacher – It’s a mystery, that’s for sure…

The Coconut Diaries – Yes, I did indeed miss you all, but I don’t have any spare fives. Sorry.

Brandy – LOL – so sorry to make you wait so long!

Narami – I appreciate your patience!

Kori – I have lurked on your blog, but to be honest, my mind has been a bit elsewhere of late. Sorry.

Mel Heth – I take a lot of pictures and do a lot of bracketing. Most of it is probably junk. And no, no other prospects.

Marie – If that’s what it is… as for the honesty, well, let’s just say this blog is often an effective outlet…
