Wow, this year is just rolling by…
In a few short hours The Parentage will arrive in town for a brief, two day stay to celebrate Thanksgiving.
As such, I’ve spent the last couple of days cleaning my place. Not so much because I’m a slob, but because having one’s parents over is a spectacular excuse to give the ‘ol homestead a thorough top-to-bottom cleaning.
Sadly, my only holiday decoration is this:
The solitary holiday decoration
which shall sit on the front doorstep. I know: woo.
Luckily, The Ex Girlfriend always went to see other relatives on Thanksgiving, so there’s no painful memories of that to cloud the day. And thankfully, The Parentage and I get along well enough to survive the confined space of my house for 48 hours.
The fact that they’re in a hotel and not sleeping on the couch helps too. A lot. Trust me.
Of course, it also means I won’t have much time on the net until Saturday, so I’ll be catching up on everyone’s blogs over the weekend.
That I have much to be thankful this year goes without saying, and that post won’t come until the end of the year or so. Watching this enormously painful Frontline on Darfur (entitled “On Our Watch,” no less) tonight makes one’s problems, such as they are, seem incredibly minor.
I hope the next few days find you all safe and sound and happy, be it with friends or family or celebrating (as I often have) alone. To all of you who read this little blog, those who comment and lurk alike, I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving! 🙂
Thanksgiving was in October….
Have a good holiday.

I hear you about the cleaning thing. Before I got married the apartment got cleaned every Thanksgiving when my Mom would visit.
Have a happy, safe, U.S. Thanksgiving GH.

Yup, I’ve gotta do the cleaning thing also, before my sisters get here. Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!
