The Parentals have just left, having played our last round of Rummikub.
The day has been filled with good food (turkey on the BBQ, mashed potatoes, stuffing, etc.), and finished off with a small slice of pumpkin pie with a really, truly, obscenely absurd amount of whipped cream on top.
The day was spent talking, cooking, playing games, and watching TV.
And Dad and I sang (very off-key) Happy Birthday to my Mother.
It was a small holiday, not like the Thanksgivings I had growing up with all of my Grandparents and whatever aunts and uncles and cousins and what-not wandered into town over the years. Not knowing my future, who’s to say if there will be that sort of thing again some day or not.
But for today, there was family and food. It’s more than a lot of people have, and I’m thankful for it.
I hope everyone’s Thanksgiving was good as well.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to crawl into bed and try to sleep off some of this turkey. Darn tryptophan…
Happy Thanksgiving! Glad you had a great one!

You could have recorded the singing and shared you know.

Sometimes the small holidays are more satisfying, and less chaotic, then the large everyone-from-the-family-and-then-some get togethers. I’m glad you had a good Turkey Day.

Well, it’s quite a contrast. I dislike very much those gatherings and always try to come up with a valid excuse to avoid them.
Nonetheless, considering what I read, you seem to have had a great time.

Jen – Thanks!
just a girl – No way. No how.
Homer-Dog – Indeed they can be. Though sometimes I miss the big family gatherings.
Gany – Heh, I’m usually so shy I’ll even use an in-valid excuse to avoid them.
