Did Anyone Notice?

Did anyone happen to notice last Sunday that “John Adams” pretty much ruled the Miniseries categories at the Emmys on Sunday?

Can I pick ’em, or can I?

In total:

  • Outstanding Miniseries
  • Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie – Paul Giamatti
  • Lead Actress in a Miniseries or Movie – Laura Linney
  • Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or Movie – Tom Wilkinson
  • Writing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special – Kirk Ellis
  • Casting for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special
  • Costuming for a Miniseries Movie or a Special
  • Prosthetic Makeup for a Series, Miniseries, Movie or a Special
  • Art Direction for a Miniseries or a Movie
  • Special Visual Effects for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special
  • Sound Mixing for a Miniseries or A Movie
  • Sound Editing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special
  • Cinematography for a Miniseries or a Movie – Tak Fujimoto

Yeah, yeah, I know there are some historical inaccuracies. *shrug* It’s still a damn fine piece of entertainment and, given the crazy politics around election time, watching it will serve as a good reminder that, despite it all, the U.S. is still for the most part an experiment that continues to work.

So go rent it! Rent it now!
