Missing That Part Of My Childhood

I mean, Drew Carey is all right and all. He’s definitely doing his best to maintain the same vibe, right down to the “spay and neuter” message at the end of the broadcast.

But, dammit, I miss Bob Barker. Which I was a kid, at home alone with a cold, that hour of Price Is Right with Barker was a sick-as-a-dog-in-front-of-the-tv tradition.

Getting older sucks.

*sigh*

It’s just not the same. It’s like trying to replace Kermit the Frog with, I don’t know, a Fraggle or something. It’s just not the same.

I haven’t watched the Price Is Right for years but I understand what you’re saying. It sucks that things have to change as we grow older.

I expect a full review of “The View”, “Snapped” and “Bridezillas” in tomorrow’s post.

Yea, the Price is Right just isn’t the same without him. I’m home sick from work today so I thought maybe I’d go with the tradition from when I was a kid of watching PIR but it seems like it doesn’t even feel like the tradition without the Barker.

My Nana and I used to watch PIR with Bob Barker All. The. Time.

I’ve watched a few with Drew Carey and it doesn’t even seem like the same show.

    Feel better 🙂

Awe substitutions are never quite the same, are they? I hope you rounded out the day with some real Campbell’s soup and some fresh-squeezed OJ.

I didn’t know Bob Barker wasn’t on the Price is Right anymore…that makes me a little sad. I hope you’re feeling better!

The only good thing about Drew on the show is that he always seems like he’s slightly mocking things.

I too grew up with Bob and it really is not the same without him.
