It’s a twofer: a crazy idea AND a chance to play with WordPress’s “stick this post to the front page” feature. Score!)
Every year between Thanksgiving and New Year’s, Disneyland (admittedly already a love-it-or-hate-it place for most LA residents) gets made over with holiday decorations. For the most part it’s quite tastefully done, with decorations fitting into each “land’s” theme perfectly. New Orleans Square and Main Street are particularly nice.
I haven’t been during the holiday’s since I broke up with The Ex a couple of years ago. During those years, we’d figured out a weekend to go every year, managing to squeeze it in amongst the stress of the holidays. While I don’t necessarily miss going with her (which isn’t to say the memories are bad, by any means), I do miss going.
But DisneyLand isn’t the kind of place that would be fun solo.
So, here’s the crazy idea: on open invitation to anyone who would like to go to DL between now and the weekend after New Year’s (except for the weekend after Christmas when I’ll likely be away).
My ideal? An intelligent, cute, hot girl who’s been lurking about and who likes to hike and camp e-mails and expresses interest. A boy can dream, right?
Also good? Well, pretty much anyone expresses interest.
What I actually expect? Meh, the holidays are busy for everybody, so I’m pretty much not expecting anything. *shrug*
But what the heck. It’s my blog. It’s an experiment. It’s worth rolling the dice, right?
Dude!! I totally wanna go….darn this whole Texas is a long way from Callie thing!!
How about a raincheck?

Disneyland at Christmas sounds like a great idea! If I could I’d book my ticket right now!

I seem to fulfill most of your qualifications and I have one free weekend between now and Christmas but flights to LA are not cheap this time of year. I’m not sure I can swing it. I’ll keep looking this morning. If I come, are you going to turn into a turtle or will I have access to your filter-free blog persona? And what if we hate each other??

If I still lived out there I’d take you up on your invitation. I’m relatively intelligent, the Wife thinks I’m cute, I’m not sure that I would consider myself hot though. I also happen to be on the wrong side the whole gender thing.

Ms. H – Next year we’ll start planning earlier?
Ruby – I dunno, I’d be playing third wheel, wouldn’t I? 😉
Mrs Chuck Bartowski – What makes you think I’m all that filtered here?
Kristin – Oh, if only I could win that lottery. Next time we’ll split it.
Homer-Dog – Suddenly, I feel dirty. You sure the Wife wouldn’t be jealous?

hmmm…i was thinking of going somewhere warm before the new year. though i was picturing clear waters and a hammock, not “it’s a small world after all”.

Why would you be third wheel? I don’t have two personalities!

I am leaving for Costa Mesa today! I wish you’d thrown out the invite earlier because I would SOOO rearrange my plans to hear Christmas carols while I was wearing shorts and sunglasses!
Bah, humbug!

I might already have a Disneyland day coming up involving my Mormon best friend, her 5-year old daughter and 1-year old son…not quite date material but we could make a fun bunch…

I’m sure you wrote once that you’re less circumspect and more open on your blog. No?

GH, I would so totally go! Never mind the fact that being around so much people would freak me out, or that I kind of sort of live in Florida. But hey! it’s the thought that counts, right? RIGHT. 😀

Nice to meet you Geekhiker! Did I hear the word “Disneyland”? You have now attracted a DisneyFreak here. lol. Recently, I started reading your blog and been lurking since until you said “Disneyland”! I’ve just been to Disneyland last week and would love to go again. I live a couple hours away from you. I’m from the desert here. I’m very into hikes & love being in nature!

Blakspring – Don’t know if we’d figure it out before the end of the year, but if you need someone to join you to that place, I’m game…
Ruby – Uh, you mean you’d leave your man behind?
TheCoconutDiaries – Next year, right?
Mel Heth – Hmmm… might work…
Dobegil – Oh, well…
Mrs. Chuck Bartowski – Only one way to know for sure…
Just A Girl – Keep playing the lotto…
Wendy – And you haven’t invited me to Disneyworld yet?
East Coast Teacher – Better check those airline flights…
DezertLamb – Intriguing…

It’s almost wrong to post stuff like this. Now I’m thinking of how fun such a trip would be, instead of thinking about how much longer my car needs to charge before I should attempt to try and start it again.
Sigh.
Winter, I loathe you.
