For the past few days a series of winter storms has been sweeping through Southern California, drenching the whole area in several inches of much needed rain.
Of course, in the city itself, it turns things into a mess, with traffic becoming a chaotic mess all over town.
On the plus side, though, it does make for some awfully nice sunsets…
Sun starting to set behind the clouds
Photomerge of lifeguard shack and the sunset (with a bit of Photoshop tweaking to try to get the layers to look right!)
Stunning.

Dude, the concept of real waves is lost on the Atlantic I tell ya. Lost. These are great, keep shooting stuff like this, maybe it’ll make ya feel better. 🙂
These are really quite spectacular. You should be proud of yourself.

I want to come visit and stand on that very shore while the waves break across my feet. Beautiful.

That’s it, I’m hopping on a plane right this instant and flinging myself into that ocean.
I need the beach. I need sand beneath my toes. I need sunshine and warmth.
Awesome photos, my friend.
Can you pick me up at LAX? 😉

Sigh…. What am I doing here again?
I thought the saying went “red sky at night, sailor’s delight”?

That second picture is crazy. I drooled when I saw it on Flickr.
I don’t know if you just happened to have the camera handy, but if you went out for this pics, thank you.

Awesome pictures. My friend in San Jose has been bugging me to come visit her again… if I can get sunsets like that, plus ocean, I really need to go!

YEAH! You found some beauty among the rain and The Governator stealing your tax refund.
BOO! For reminding me I live nowhere near water. Maybe I’ll use my tax refund to buy some…

Its always so funny to hear the type of “bad weather” that virtually shuts down cities and turns traffic into chaos. I’d love for you to visit me for a winter. You’d get a kick out of what we drive through. 🙂
Pictures? Breathtaking.
Me? Jealous.
Again.
