A New New Year

I’m not one to say that I’m not a creature of habit. I go back and forth between the two: I love doing new things and going to new places, shaking up the plan a bit. Sometimes, too, I like to jump back into the familiar.

All things in moderation, or so they say, right?

This year, though, I did something new…

If I’m Going To Feel Like This…

(Will catch up on everyone’s blogs soon, promise…)

Another pleasant train journey past and I am back from San Francisco at the Parent’s house. I swear I would do all my long distance travel that way if I could. Can you imagine if they had high-speed rail up and down the coast? ‘Tis to dream…

Tomorrow I’ll return to LA, and not a moment too soon.

Old School Travel

I’m watching the world pass by outside my window, and I’m finding it hard to pull my attention away to type. No doubt this post will be short, and most likely poorly written as a result.

When I was a poor college student, I traveled this way more often, and while I technically now have far more freedom of movement now, it’s not nearly so relaxing as this.

Care to guess where I am?

A Very Happy Holiday To Everyone

Okay, WordPress just added a “snow falling on your blog” feature, which I promptly turned on. Cool.

For those who celebrate today: Merry Christmas! But, no matter your persuasion (and it seems I am friend with one from every group nowadays 🙂 ), a very Happy Holidays to everyone who happens to stop by my little blog.

No matter where you are, what you are doing, or who you’re spending the holidays with, I hope that you are all happy and safe this holiday season. All my best.

Rushing About

Ah, the joys of running around during the holidays…

Actually, this year hasn’t been too bad. Managed to finish my shopping early, drop packages in the mail (which will no doubt show up late, but, well, *shrug*), and even get four loads of laundry done before leaving for Saturday night’s party.

Okay Fine

(Brace yourselves, it’s yet another rant…)

Okay, fine, so I miss being able to shop for someone special for the holidays.

There, I said it. Happy now?

Yep, I’m A Map-Geek, Tried & True

Isn’t it amazing? In the process of shopping for other people (which I really do enjoy; giving is more than half the fun, I think (tomorrow’s post will talk more about that)), it’s almost inevitable that you run across a thing or two that you want for yourself.

I won’t buy until after the holiday (*fingers crossed for gift card*), but whilst at the bookstore I ran across:

Burnt

The Saturday before last, unable to resist temptation any longer, I drove out to The Secret Spot.

I went out again this Saturday, making it twice in two weeks, for reasons I’ll explain in a moment.

It was funny, but it was like I couldn’t stay away. No matter the condition of the place, I just had to see it, say “hello”. I’ve alluded to the place being like an old friend to me before, and I had to wish my old friend a speedy recovery.

It’s A Good Kinda Pain

Without a doubt, all the back and forth with Sunday’s date and OPG has lent my life a bit ‘o interest of late.  Certainly it’s made for a couple of halfway-interesting blog posts.

Still, just a wee bit frustrating.  Too confusing.  I’ve heard this myth that, occasionally, two people meet each other and hit it off right away, nice and simple.  Me?  I gotta step into this complex stuff.

Bleh.
